Small Business Saturday Spotlight: Frisk Accessories
On The Hill there is a gem of a store on the corner of 13th street and Pennsylvania. Housed in a 100 year old historic building, Frisk pays an exquisite attention to detail and design. Donna Rubino and her daughters, Jessica and Amanda, hand craft each piece of Frisk Jewelry from vintage elements spanning the decades in their Boulder studio. The boutique features a rotating selection of well curated vintage, and one-of-kind metalsmith lines (with almost everything priced under $120). Selected as 5280's pick for "Top of the Town" for Accessories Boutiques in 2014, Frisk has been seen in Seventeen, Domino and Teen Vogue. Take your time when perusing Frisk so you don't miss a thing.
Hi Donna, how long have you been open? We opened in June of 2008, almost seven years! What's your favorite thing about having a store on The Hill? We love the mix of students and Boulder residents that come up to visit the store. The women that shop in Frisk are really lovely, they have great style and appreciate vintage and special keepsakes. What's your favorite item in the store? For vintage and gifts I love our locket collection from 1930s and 1940s. From Frisk I adore our glitzy, big necklaces (guess it's the New Jersey in me). Do you have an amazing personal collection of jewelry? Yes! Ha. Although I've had to cut the girls off from pulling items for themselves.
